 When
we were sent to our organizations we were told to collect some data
on observations, field notes.
We were asked write down everything we saw and everything we did.
We had to give a description of our organization as well. While at
my organization I noticed that HOPE had a very large part of the
building it was in; HOPE had three floors, and a lot of office
space, the organization had its own kitchen, and a room with a
couple of couches and a television in it. The minute you walk into
HOPE the first thing you see is a vase filled to the top with
condoms.   I interviewed Mayra Ortolaza, she is Jefferey’s assistant. She is Puerto Rican, she is 23 years old. Mayra answered my questions to the best of her ability, and all of her answers were very beneficial for my paper. However the way she answered one of my questions was exceptionally important for me; mainly because it is exactly what I expected to hear. When I asked Mayra “why are so many Hispanic girls getting pregnant at such young ages?†Mayra responded by saying ‘Hispanic girls are getting pregnant at young ages because they say that they don’t want to be old when they have their children, or they feel that having a baby is the only way to keep the boyfriend, or the most common the condom broke’ This response was exactly what I expected to hear, I had a feeling she was going to say that because a lot of my friends gave me that same response when I asked them.
