Section 2 Problem Question and Hypothesis
The nature of my problem that I planned to study is does the resources of schools affect a students academic success. Many resources are supplied in different areas which causes major problem because in Boston Public schools the resources that we have are much lower than the resources out in the Suburbs. However, I believe that schools should have an equivalent amount of resources that could make students academically successful. This research is necessary particularly by youth because we can then see the differences between urban and suburban Schools. Finding out the differences between the two will allow people to voice their opinions about education / school system.
My research question is "Does the resources affect a students academic success?" It attempts to provide insight about the different varietys of how students are learning and to determine how sufficient their learning is due to lack of resources. Hopefully, my PAR paper can get the people of Boston ‘s perspective of education and to be able to provide hints on how not to fall into the stereotypes of the expected. In today’s society many people are expected to fail usually because of how an individual portrays him or herself. I strongly believe that if students have more support outside of school such as parents, teachers, etc then students will be more advanced in their learning. As a student myself we have to understand that there are people out there who are willing to help raise funds for the school and to help benefit our future. I am strongly willing to help my community build up the school surroundings. Hopefully I’m excepting to find out why in the suburban areas they have a lot more resources then in the areas such as Roxbury, Dorchester, and Hyde Park and even in Brighton where they are now just getting money to fund new computers.
