History
In the 1970s segregation was going on, and it was Effecting African Americans, but mainly students more, because the white people didn’t want anything to be equal. For example the schools were separated with all black students, and all white students, and all white schools were better. There were clean classrooms, materials for students, permanent teachers, and less kids in a classroom so the students can focus better. Where as though in a black school it was the total opposite, it was dirty, loud, crowded in classrooms and young kids weren’t learning anything.

Work in the Lowell Mills was never easy and grew harder as time passed. The factories that these young women worked in were very horrible. For young children it was worst, because they were used to reaching in certain spots that larger women couldn’t get to. Sometimes the machines were so high and the young children had to climb up to reach the bobbins, if they slip they can hurt themselves badly. Little girl “spinners” walk up and down the long aisles, between the frames, watching the bobbins closely. Young girls experienced hardships working in factories, and it wasn’t has if they had a choice, it was apart of their lifestyles.
