Section VII. Research Process Reflection

Starting to do this research I came into it with a negative attitude. The paper was way too long and it had way too many requirements. As I was explained what to do, it didn’t seem as bad, and I actually thought I was going to learn something new. There were a lot of challenges that came along with this research, but there was also a lot of things that I learned. In doing this research, I learned more about what kind of person I was, and how to face difficult situations that I am bound to face again in the future. Writing the paper wasn’t the hard part for me. Collecting the data was the difficult part of my research.

At first this research project was easy, because a lot of the information I had to put in I had already written, so it was just the matter of copying and pasting the right information to go into my paper; but as my paper started to progress it started to get challenging. It was hard to collect any type of data that I needed, because the site that I was placed at didn’t turn out to be as great as I expected. The first day on my site was a little exciting and I thought it would be a great place to find all the answers that I needed for my research, the director was nice and the place looked comfortable, but as time went on I was wrong. The director of the program was never there, and that left me in a bad situation. The type of person that I am is one that doesn’t like procrastination. I like to do my work when I get it, and relieve myself from any type of stress. My process in the research paper was everything but that. The fact that I didn’t have any data left me with a great set back along with some confusion, anger, and annoyance. It was difficult for me to collect anymore data, because I was missing too many school days, therefore I was set back on make-up work. It was extremely complicated to manage both finding data and keeping up with my other classes.
