Contribution to
community
Contributing to society is something that a lot of people don't get to do in their lifetime. I indeed was allowed to contribute to the community by going to HOPE third term. When I first went to HOPE, it was an extremely comfortable place, and I was looking forward to working with the organization. I was to focus on the area of health, and create a power point or brochure, and in return I would get the information I needed for my PAR paper. Unfortunately I was only able to go to HOPE twice, and the rest of the times due to some miscommunication problems I didn't go anymore. Although I wasn't able to go to HOPE as much as I had wanted to I was able to give back to the community by still finishing my project on an issue that affects the community. I still as though even going to HOPE twice was giving back to the community, because I made the effort to get interested in a problem, and wanting to help others.
Another contribution that I believe I have made was the Boston Indicators Report reading that i did. I believe that i gave back to the community as soon as i started reading the packet, because i was making myself aware of what was going on in Boston, and the areas that are mostly affected by social forces. When I first saw "contribution to community," I first thought I had to do something, but I now realize that that's not the only way to contribute. Being aware of what is going on, reading and researching about your city is a contribution, because I am part of the city, and the more I know about it the more capable I am to spread the word, and tell others about what is going on, and how to improve the community.
