Lowell Mill Girls- were a group
of girls that worked in factories and were affected by
industrialization
DSNI- a program
in Roxbury, which was geared to rebuilding Roxbury's
neighborhood
Boston Busing- On June 21, 1974,
desegregation of all Boston Public Schools was put in effect by
Judge Garrity. This ruling came 7 years after the Brown vs. Board
of Education case, which led to the desegregation of South Public
Schools. All was fine until South Boston (predominately white) and
Roxbury (predominately black) found out they had to
integrate.
