Many of my friends may describe me as a lively person with an adventurous personality. I have gained this reputation through my involvement in various extracurricular activities. High school helped me realize a basic fact about myself - I am a versatile person with a diverse set of interests and an immense curiosity for life. When you think of me you will not only see an enthusiastic cheerleader, but also a class president who strives to lead. You will see a robotics member ready to use tools to build a robot, with hands that have also helped students reach their journalism goal through Write Boston. You will see a young lady with a thirst for new learning experiences, and with dreams of success in anything and everything she does. My participation in different activities challenged me to grow as a person. In pushing myself to seek new horizons, I had the honor of taking part in a college level psychology course at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. during the summer of 2008. This five-week program allowed me to understand what was in store for me the next four years after crossing the graduation stage in June of 2009. I enrolled in the summer program despite fearing being away from home and my family, yet the experience was impossible not to appreciate. I walked away consciously understanding what I wanted for myself as a scholar in high school as well as in college. In the long term, my participation in various social groups helped me gain independence and resilience. I strive to overcome more challenges as my determination to grow as an individual persists.
