What are the long term and short term factors that have a negative influence on a youth's education today?

Education itself is a contraversial topic we all deal with from the time we enter K1 to the moment we've reached college. In my Humanities class, many of the students have discussed many of the concerns they have about education and the long and short term effects of receiving the right one. Essentially, we came to the conclusion that with receiving an education come other negative factors that keep students from achieving success. Through the class question, I decided that one of those negative factors has much to do with financial support provided for schools from their respected sources. Knowing this, I was motivated to write about the differences between private and public schools and bring out the long term effects of not having the right funding for education.
