How effective can young people be in leading and participating in the community change? What evidence of growth have you demonstrated in?

Academic Excellence- I have shown Academic Excellence in the classroom by working by myself and doing group work but also working by myself, for example when we had to do the charts of ephibophobia which happened to one of my favorite activities and we had to work in big groups for a given time then we had to stop. We did not know what the term meant and then we studied it and come to find out the focus of our PAR papers was going to why we learning ephibophobia.

Contribution to Community- In contribution t o community I did inside and outside of school. Inside of school I would go recruiting to do community service or just for fun because I liked it, that way I met a lot people and I had a lot fun with the friends that came a long, also it made the new coming freshmen more comfortable to know that they knew someone in the school and I liked that because it was scary for me on my first day of high school.  Also I would do contribution to the community in church by volunteering in Sunday school which I enjoyed because it made me feel good that I could give back to God.

Leadership- I demonstrated leadership by always trying to be a good role model, I did not always have the best qualities but I always was someone people seeked when they had problems. For example, John Barros from the DSNI was a great role model for the community because he did great things for the community of Dudley and everyone who lived there loved him for that.

Understanding of Self and Others- I have always had a way with people and had a way of understanding myself with others, whether it is in public, school, or anywhere. In school I always understood myself with others,  it reminds me going back to the Lowell Mill Girls they always stayed together like a family because the understood each other’s their values and that is how I was with my close friends.  We Studied Events in the past to see how they affect the future and now I see that people do not show any or respect towards each other because if not there would not be that much hostility of violence, Contribution in our communities, or action in the class rooms.
