Featured Student Work
Throughout the coursework of the Capstone class, students produced a variety of products in the form of multiple writing assignments and essays, poster presentations, a brochure, an oral history, a major research paper and a personalized digital portfolio website.
Excellent Capstone projects were the result of student engagement throughout the entire year and an ability to draw thematic connections between the various topics we studied, particularly the linkages from historical case-studies of activism to the needs of their present day communities. For certain, the factors of organization and the ability to pull together the disparate units of the curriculum into a unifying whole was a challenge, and the hallmark of those students who excelled in the course.
The following were some of the course-end rubrics that were used to assess student work.
